Overview
The Director of Space Operations is responsible for business execution to deliver on customer requirements in FTI's Space Market while achieving company related business and financial goals. The Director is accountable for developing strategic relationships with Key customer personnel, including decision makers, influencers and end users that have a direct impact on program success. This individual will provide oversight for the projects and program teams within his/her portfolio of business. As part of the program oversight, the Director will have a focus on tactical and strategic deliverables and should have experience managing operational delivery in an integrated environment that seamlessly integrates the project and program teams with other business units and functional organizations within the company.

Revenue and Profitability Management

Responsibilities
Lead and execute operational changes to achieve customer and business goals while improving profitability.
Participate in the development of a strategy to achieve short and long-term operational and business development objectives.
Manage the implementation of business objectives, guidelines, and strategies of the organization, and ensure that action plans or policies are in place to meet those objectives.
Monitor operational performance against budget.
Manage the development of business requirements including performance metrics related to the customer's mission.
Ensure that resources are aligned with the organizational structure that meet business needs.
Manage and oversee the implementation of administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure that program teams have appropriate leadership and operating structures in place to ensure the success of the business.
Education/Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree required, MBA in program related discipline preferred.
Experience
8-10 Years of experience leading large, complex programs in the Space Market with revenue of $40M or more.
5-8 years of experience managing complex, multi-functional teams with 100 or more employees.
Directs the execution of a broad functional area, providing leadership for next level management to deliver customer mission requirements.
Proven ability to manage and control the planning, staffing, budgeting, and prioritization of investments to deliver company and customer results.
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the customer mission and company technology.
Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
Regularly interfaces with company executive team along with customer decision makers and influencers.
