As a Quality Engineer at Caterpillar, you will provide accurate and timely support of prime product production and the resolution of problems resulting from field material failures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for monitoring Internal DPU (defects per unit) and 2 MIS DPU (months in service) for assigned product line(s) and executing the CPI/BIQ (Continuous Product Improvement / Built in Quality) process

  • Responsible for representing Quality Department on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), prove design to production, engineering changes and deviations

  • Responsible for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process / Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV), including creating and maintaining Inspection Checklists and processes

  • Responsible for managing communications and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for products shipped to distribution centers

  • Responsible for executing RCCA and writing/managing rework processes according to the Athens Quality Ship Hold process

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting monthly metrics for above listed processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably with emphasis in design, mechanical, quality, manufacturing and/or systems or enrolled and graduating with a Bachelor's degree by 12/2022

  • OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years cumulative experience in a manufacturing discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience in engineering or quality function

  • Experience utilizing/applying quality management system standards

  • Experience with SAP (ME and ECC), including accessing/writing standard work

  • Excellent data analysis skills

  • Demonstrated technical / professional writing skills

  • Strong communication skills

Top candidates will also have:

*Advanced degree

*Certification with professional society (ASQ, ASME)

*PowerBI or similar data analytics and reporting experience
