As a Supply Chain Planning Analyst III on the KK Material Planning team, you will perform both operational and tactical work to meet plant material deliverables. You will be responsible for building relationships by working with cross functional teams and leaders at a Caterpillar enterprise level. This is a project-based role with report out activities to leadership and process partners on key projects and initiatives in the procurement space. In addition, the selected candidate will be working directly with the supply base, managing the procurement of purchase finished & rough worked material for the KK machine shop. This position executes to deliver components on time to meet clean to build initiatives, collaborate with various process partners and meet various customer demand expectations.
Job Duties
Leading continuous improvement projects.
Report out activities with leadership and process partners on key projects and initiatives in the procurement space
Managing multiple projects simultaneously while reaching key milestones on time.
Collaborate at a Caterpillar enterprise level relating projects and workflow activities.
Working with a wide range of teams, including but not limited to engineering, operations, logistics, warehouse, & purchasing.
Performing tasks to improve inbound material flow
Investigating root cause and performing corrective actions to resolve material issues
Providing tactical management of inventory levels and supporting daily operations
Resolving grief reports and proactive demand planning
Supplier recovery planning
Freight cost management
Supplier relationship management
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of standard supply chain systems.
Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work across functions to perform work deploying supply chain improvements.
Requires strong presentation and problem solving skills
Must be a team player and able to work with leaders and cross functional teams to attain common goals
Knowledge and/or experience in material planning / control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing operations and supply chain
Ability to analyze business conditions and situations during deployment needed to minimize disruption to daily requirements.
College or University Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering
Top Candidates will also have
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
CPS Functional Job Role Qualified
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
Ability to use and troubleshoot the MRP, SAP, Lognet and MTS systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
