Job Description:
This position supports strategic programs essential to maintaining U.S. Armed Forces' readiness. The successful Manufacturing Engineering Technician will contribute as a member of a project team with responsibility for providing production support and troubleshooting to keep production assembly equipment running efficiently. Manufacturing Engineering Technicians also support production through operator training and process issue resolution. This position will support company efforts to improve safety, quality, performance, and cost.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the development of methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, etc. required to fabricate close tolerance mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical products
Responsible for setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of manual and automated assembly, inspection, and test equipment.
Interface with engineers and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve yield issues and improve efficiency
Train production personnel in new or existing operations
Set-up and validate new production workstations
Implement corrective actions involving designs, materials, and processes
Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
Provide support related to manufacturing engineering
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate's degree with a minimum 2 years of prior related experience.
Experience and proficiency with a variety of hand, power, and test tools.
Able to obtain secret level clearance.
Must be a United States Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Experience with pressing, staking, riveting, swaging, potting, electronics soldering, conformal coating, packaging, X-ray inspection, laser welding, robotics, and control systems
Experience with vision, laser, photoelectric, and fiberoptic sensors
Experience with PLC Programming/ladder logic
Experience reading and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
Experience with ANSI J-STD-001, AS9100, and ANSI Y14.5
Experience with SolidEdge and Minitab
