We are seeking a Controls Program Manager to join our team at our Chesapeake, VA office. The selected candidate would be responsible for setting up cost control system, monitoring and controlling costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. Responsibilities would include performing analyses and preparing reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.

What You Will Do

  • Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.

  • Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled.

  • Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.

  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.

  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.

What You Must Have

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Prior experience with Government Contracting or Accounting.

  • Prior experience with Project Controls/Accounting.

  • Previous Management experience.

Bonus Points For...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

  • Experience with Costpoint Accounting System and COGNOS Reporting

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment. Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines. Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height.
