Your Impact
Will take a leadership role in the management of the materials laboratory in our Phoenix office. Will be responsible for lab certification, preparing for lab audits, maintaining quality control, ensuring timely execution of lab tests, hiring, and managing income statement to meet financial goals for the office.
Play a key role in upholding our company's Quality program and Construction Materials Quality Management System (QMS), guaranteeing that laboratory processes and personnel consistently meet our rigorous standards, and maintain its current AMRL, CCRL, ADOT, and USACE accreditations.
Assists the Department Manager to ensure that laboratory personnel are properly trained, supervised and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to ensure their personal safety in the office and laboratory.
Assists the Department Manager and lab staff with overseeing calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
Financial performance of the lab - P&L, controlling labor costs and equipment expenses, tracking revenue
Will perform business development efforts to provide diversification, development, and growth of services through new business opportunities and expansion of business with existing clients.
Assist in proposal preparation including innovative technical approaches and competitive pricing. Will prepare and perform client presentations.
Will supervise operations of concrete/soils/asphalt laboratory in Phoenix, Arizona.
Will compile, review and approve lab and field reports
Position will serve as primary interface with client representatives.
Be responsible for implementing the project in accordance with project specifications.
Will oversee scheduling and coordination of Lab Technicians
Must have ability to make quick decisions requiring sound judgment and experience
Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
Who You Are
Role Requirements
At least 7 - 10 years in experience in construction materials lab testing
Ability and experience directing and managing staff
Demonstrated lab project management experience
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
Positive experience dealing directly with client representatives.
Must have sound knowledge of laboratory tests.
Business development experience and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships as well as experience in proposal preparation.
Strong work ethic, self-motivated and capable of independent work. Demonstrated ability to work on project teams.
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Experience with AMRL, CCRL, ADOT and USACE Laboratory Accreditations
ATTI Asphalt, ATTI Soils and Aggregate
ACI Strength Testing, ACI Aggregate Base Testing, ACI- Aggregate Testing Level 1, ACI Masonry Laboratory Testing
