Job Description:
Provides system application and technical skills in the development of detailed system specifications for strategic procurement systems enhancements and implementation projects. Applies systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions, and by aiding less experienced analysts in the design, programming, debugging, testing, and implementation of complex, medium to large-sized technology systems, enhancements, and integrations.
This position reports to an IT Supervisor, Senior IT Supervisor or IT Manager, as do other staff jobs in application systems and technical infrastructure sections.
You will play a role in delivery and support of strategic procurement systems and data platform. You will gain enterprise level exposure to key initiatives, business processes, people and data that drive our procurement. You will work with a mix of vendor provided SaaS cloud solutions, Snowflake as data platform, and custom applications built to enable procurement functions.
Responsibilities of the incumbents will be across multiple business process areas, system applications, and technology stacks. Key skills include:
Competent to perform all system implementation, enhancement, and support assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work;
Acts as team leader for development and support groups; provides development and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members;
Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls;
Translate business requirements into detail system requirements/specification to deliver a complete technology solution potentially across multiple systems;
Analyzing data using SQL skills, performing development/system configuration, and supporting customer acceptance testing
Fully knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components; can provide training on these topics for others;
Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions;
Assists customers with documentation, training and usability efforts;
Experience designing, building, and testing system integrations across mainly different systems
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field*
5+ years of professional IT programming experience preferably in cold fusion, java, or dot net
Excellent technical and analytical skills
Excellent data analysis skills using SQL
