ProMedica Physicians Neurosurgery is recruiting a motivated Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established neurosurgery practice in Toledo, Ohio. The practice has served the Toledo area for many years and has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality, compassionate care.
Job Description:
Obtains complete histories and performs physical exams, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families Assists with neurosurgical consults and admissions, and with provider rounding, to include: writing notes, orders, wound care, etc. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds Facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services Works in a collaborative team approach, with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families Ensures compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations and adheres to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures

6 APPs + 5 neurosurgeons at TTh
Rounding with the physicians & patient post-op education
Working with other lines of care
Consults in the ER
Inpatient rounding at Toledo Hospital

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of nursing (MSN) degree with an Acute Care focus. Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio Inpatient or ICU / Critical Care experienced highly preferred Neurosurgical experience highly preferred Knowledge on how to perform neurological assessments preferred Candidate must have proven history of managing multiple inpatients Current CPR certification required. Experience in neurosurgery preferred, but all candidates will be considered with the appropriate training, background and interpersonal skills Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment toward achieving customer/patient satisfaction. Post offer pre-employment required to include drug screen
Physician Assistant
Masters degree Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio
PA-C
Inpatient or ICU / Critical Care experienced highly preferred Neurosurgical experience highly preferred Knowledge on how to perform neurological assessments preferred Candidate must have proven history of managing multiple inpatients Certificate of Authority to practice is required.
