Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the DoD. Responsibilities You will perform chemical and physical testing on samples received at the laboratory according to all requirements and guidelines provided by standard operating procedures. You will ensure that fuel impurity levels are within safety limitations. You will provide quality control and inspection services for all products received, stored, issued, or transferred at the Area of Responsibility (AOR). You will keep designated laboratory work areas stock with adequate supply of reagents and solvents. You will maintain records of all tests performed, both written and electronic. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Conducting and analyzing a wide variety of chemical and physical tests while applying physical science principles and methodologies; 2) Providing quality control and inspection services; and 3) Assisting with corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment to support readiness of operating units. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu on specialized experience, you may qualify with the following educaiton: One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230.
