Responsible for direct supervision of all accounting staff within Take 5 Car Wash. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, monthly, quarterly and annual billings to clients for services provided, collection of accounts receivable, supervising accounts payable, monthly preparation of a reforecast, and annual preparation of a budget. The Take 5 Car Wash US Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
Accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
Perform month-end closing and year-end closing and coordinate and assign duties to the accounting staff as needed.
Preparation variance analysis on both the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
Evaluate departmental performance and make adjustments to daily operations when needed to ensure the department meets overall goals and objectives.
Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to comply with SOX
Management and timely closure of both internal and external audits
Oversee and support integration of new acquisitions into Take 5 Car Wash
Ensure proper application of US GAAP
Propose solutions to streamline current processes/activities
Prepare and participate in business unit review meetings
Oversee and support the preparation and review of account reconciliations
Review and approve Journal Entries
Partner with the Business to accomplish key objectives and KPIs
BS Degree with emphasis in Accounting
10+ years of accounting and management experience
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
Expertise in various database query and reporting tools
Strong analytic and quantitative skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Management experience with a proven record of employee engagement
