The Helena Public Schools is accepting applications for a Title Instructional Coach position. As an Instructional Coach, you will support teachers through reflective coaching cycles that support planning, developing and implementation of functions and interventions related to curriculum for literacy and math initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build collegial relationships between coaches, teachers and principals.
Plan lessons with teachers based on the systematic study of student needs.
Facilitate teachers' expertise with best instructional practice, specifically differentiation, standards, Understanding by Design, technology, Quadrant D and Common Core.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, stand and talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. Frequently driving and the ability to work in multiple locations is performed while meeting the demands of this job. Occasionally, yet essential to this position, the individual must meet deadlines with severe time constraints, interacting with the public and other workers. Occasionally, the position requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IS:
An experienced K-12 literacy educator with a Montana teaching certificate
Experienced in curriculum design/implementation, instructional strategies, assessment, data analysis and high-quality professional development
Recognized for having extensive knowledge of and ability to use technology to improve instruction, conduct assessments, maintain, and manage data.
Able to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field.
Able to establish effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
Able to speak clearly and concisely in both oral and written communication mediums.
