As a Manufacturing Test Engineer , you will have the opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, complex manufacturing operations and sophisticated machines as they relate to engine testing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support at the various test stands: Main Assembly Leak Test (MALT), Long Block Test (LBT), Engine Function Test (EFT) and Hot Test.

  • Understand test stand process requirements. Prioritize work of multiple test stands simultaneously, as needed, to meet assembly expectations with a sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to product quality.

  • Compile and perform data analysis to diagnose complex issues and problems to determine root cause.

  • Analyze engine characteristic and performance trend data to meet customer expectations.

  • Define acceptance criteria for process indicators.

  • Communicate technical information effectively with both internal and external process partners.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities impacting the assembly process and test performance.

  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing methodology to engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues by taking initiative and driving creative ideas forward.

  • Work collaboratively and lead both specialized and broad-based projects as they relate to the test stands with internal and external process partners.

  • Analyze customer requirements and make recommendations for equipment, procedure, or process changes.

  • Provide specifications and procure new or replacement testing and validation equipment. Implement robust solutions to meet customer requirements.

  • Design, develop, and implement assembly processes and manufacturing systems, including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation, and system application.

  • Manage capital projects with internal and external suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are implemented.

  • Develop training programs and process documentation for technicians (E.g., Operations)

  • Develop and document Manufacturing Engineering processes for training and development of Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Techs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science or similar Technical or Discipline

  • 3-5 years manufacturing or test related work experience in a testing or manufacturing environment preferably in engine dynamometer tests, engine performance development, or engine component assembly

  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills with a high level of curiosity and investigative mindset with attention to detail

Top candidates will also have:

  • Diesel engine and/or Leak testing experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Understanding of electrical systems and schematics

  • Knowledge of programming languages

  • Technical project work experience

  • Experience in 3D modeling (i.e., AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks)

  • Understanding of engineering prints and operational drawings

  • Experience with safety protocols and risk assessment

  • Passion for collaboration and ability to align multiple stakeholders
