Do you have the drive to help the Excavation Division (EXD) continue to progress towards groundbreaking products and technologies? Do you want to deliver the next step change technology for the construction industry while at the same time you drive solutions across the excavator lineup that improve the customer experience for the broad customer base? We have an exciting opportunity for you as a New Product Introduction (NPI) Team Leader on the Annual Product Update (APU) team where you will provide critical input and direction for the annual updates across the EXD product line as a part of a diverse, global team. This position is in Peoria, Illinois.
Specifically, as the NPI Team Leader, you can expect to:
Act as the node between Advanced Engineering, NPI, and Commercial teams for future technology development, integration, and trade-off discussions
Develop feature requirements and priorities for APU features, leveraging input from various internal and external sources
Lead, manage, and own the global EXD Customer Panel, including the annual EXD Demo Days customer event and working with them on early learner opportunities
Coordinate and drive execution of EXD's technology multi-generational plan, and ensure the technology pipeline is full of customer value-added technology features
Develop cross-platform solutions that address product gaps and provide customer delighters for GX, GC, and Standard machine customers
Represent EXD and lead inter-divisional discussion on project priority and strategy work with business partners such as Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), Construction Digital & Technology (CD&T), Cat Digital
Provide clarity and communication to development teams and commercial teams throughout the NPI lifecycle
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university, preferably in business or engineering, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 8 years of progressive job-related experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience leading change without authority
Ability to thrive and be successful in a fast paced, global business unit
In-depth knowledge of hydraulic excavators or in-depth knowledge with onboard construction equipment technology (grade systems, semi-autonomy, ease-of-use, etc.)
Top candidates will also bring:
Previous machine or industry marketing experience, including field and staff assignments
Strong project management skills
Strong ability to balance customer, dealer, enterprise priorities
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
Ability to influence change across the organization
Additional Details:
Location: Peoria, IL
3 days onsite per week is expected
Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify
20-30% of travel is expected (International and domestic)
ISE assignment is not available for this position
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
