The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking an Alaska Region Safety Initiative Project Manager to directly support the Federal Aviation Administration Regional Office in Anchorage, AK.
This Project Manager will support the FAA Regional Administrator on the Don Young Alaska Region Aviation Safety Initiative (DYAASI) with outreach efforts and provide research, coordination, and formulation of potential initiatives, tracking existing initiatives all to support improved aviation safety across the State of Alaska. This position will closely interact with stakeholders at all levels of government and industry, within the state and within the agency.
Specific duties for this position include:
Interact with high-level stakeholders with the FAA, NTSB, State of Alaska, Industry, and other government agencies to research, gather, organize, and catalog pertinent historical and background information.
Prepare and make formal presentations to all level of stakeholders.
Maintain a Project Implementation Schedule with necessary milestones.
Provide coordination between all stakeholders.
Collect and collate data for the DYAASI across FAA Lines of Businesses including the Office of Airports (ARP), the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), and the Office of Aviation Safety (AVS).
Provide research, technical writing and draft reports.
Identify and index all technical documents, orders, reports and other sources of information relied on or cited to by the workgroup in preparation of any draft or recommendation.
Distribute and track draft documents within the working groups.
Provide an economic impact, cost, and funding quantitative analysis for workgroup-prioritized evaluations.
Prepare Preliminary Draft Comprehensive Internal FAA Inventory of Proposals and Planned Activities for enhancing Aviation Safety in Alaska across all Lines of Business.
Please Note: One must be able to work onsite in Anchorage, Alaska. Potential telework eligible (1-2 days) with manager's approval, but subject to change to the requirement of FAA. Could be reduced to fully onsite, as telework opportunity is subject to change.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with NAS systems and terminology.
Knowledge of Alaska aviation industry and challenges.
Knowledge of FAA air traffic control procedure.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant prior experience OR Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of prior relevant experience maybe considered / accepted in lieu of degree.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
