We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

We are hiring 4 Directors, for AML Operations. Please review preferred for the different experience needed for positions.

As a dedicated Director, AML Operations, you will directly run resources in support of the Bank's Anti-Money Laundering operations and related activities for USAA the Federal Savings Bank (-FSB-) and USAA Savings Bank (-USB-) AML/Sanctions risk programs, policies, governance, and controls. Leads operational teams to ensure consistent execution of an AML program areas for multiple lines of business. Fosters collaboration and leads employees and teams to achieve a shared member service vision. Organizes and directs the execution of operational and strategic business plans.

The Opportunity

What you'll do:

  • Develops and oversees the implementation and execution of AML operating strategies, policies, and procedures aimed at compliance with regulators expectations regarding all AML activities for multiple products and lines of business within the Bank.

  • Leads and drives principles of operational discipline and execution excellence across accountable area and across functional teams through the development of KPIs and KRIs.

  • Drives for continued enhancement of existing AML Operations teams and processes with a focus on centralization of like teams and processes and associated efficiency gains.

  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional business partners to ensure effective and efficient solutions are implemented to resolve operational issues related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML program.

  • Ensures that operations are efficient in terms of resources and effective in terms of meeting member, organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitors account refresh activity daily to ensure regulatory/document requirements are met.

  • Directs department resources across all units to achieve service and relationship goals. Includes leading internal employees, contractors and managing third party vendor relationships.

  • Builds and manages a high performing team of professionals through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and related managerial activities.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/ Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) area supporting financial services and/or banking related products.

  • 3 or more years of direct team lead, or management experience required.

  • Advanced knowledge in compliance of Federal Banking Laws and Regulations such as OCC Heightened Standards, Fair Lending Laws, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering, and Global Sanctions regulatory requirements.

  • Working knowledge, understanding and application of risk management and compliance framework and guidelines.

  • Ability to influence various levels of management and cross-matrix teams with AML expertise to impact business decisions and/or processes.

  • Ability to drive and deliver work results that align to strategic goals.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $158,960-$303,830 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
