ITW Welding continues to build its capabilities in software development processes, as a core competency, for welding equipment and solutions. To support the effort, we are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Analyst to be a key driver of quality through testing. The Software Quality Assurance Analyst will be a key contributor in the written test procedures and test execution. This position requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, and product management teams to ensure quality and reliability in innovative products that serve our customer's needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibilities include formalizing product test strategy and plan, test generation, and test execution for Industrial Equipment Division initiatives. A critical part of this role is the implementing of QA best practices with a strong commitment to quality.
Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures as needed.
Document software defects using tracking systems, and report defects to software developers.
Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, and user experience content.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and other relevant feedback.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, and network environments located virtually or in a lab environment.
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
Update automated test scripts to ensure proper function as products evolve.
Install and configure software production environments to allow testing of software performance, and functional readiness prior to deployment.
Identify non-compliance of functionality from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
Investigate customer issues referred by technical support (level 2 or level 3 support).
Work with a sense of urgency while balancing calculated risks.
Say abreast of new software testing strategies and methodologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in computer science, computer applications, information technology, technology management or equivalent experience
2-years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analysts or similar
Proficiency with software testing processes throughout the SDLC
Experience writing manual testing procedures
Experience with structured testing management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
A self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Be a team player with a positive attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer applications, information technology, technology management or similar
Software QA certification (e.g., CSTE) with a minimum of 5-years of QA experience
Experience testing PC applications, cloud/web applications, and embedded solutions
Experience with Microsoft DevOps
Experience with Agile or Scrum processes in a team environment
Experience with automated testing
Limited travel may be required
