Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 12 months you will work toward completing?
Commercial top tier accounts are the growth engine for VMware. The primary objective of this position is to lead the technical account strategy for a territory of up to 4 client executives supporting a diverse portfolio of customers ranging from fortune 1000 to mid-market enterprises. You will partner to deliver quarterly bookings targets for selling VMware solutions that meet our customer's most critical digital business goals. You will learn your customers' business model and match VMware solutions to the business outcomes and technical requirements leveraging a long-term engagement model to build a sustainable business.
The SE seeks to build deep, consultative relationships with their customer, effectively becoming a trusted advisor. The SE trusted advisor is ideally positioned to understand the customer's high-level business objectives, and matches these to VMware solutions to satisfy the business and technical requirements not only for the customer current state but future state architectures.
The SE is comfortable presenting VMware's value proposition, technologies, strategy, and product roadmaps to all levels at their customer including executives, technical management, and technical engineers.
Establishes solid working relationships with VMware specialist teams, sales leadership, professional services, leading VARs, Distributors, Corporate Resellers, OEMs, and Cloud/Hosting Partners.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Travel 30-50% (post covid) of the time meeting with and presenting to current and prospective customers and for internal and customer events/meetings.
Providing the technical knowledge to help customer understand how VMware can help them meet their business goals.
Design, develop and sell solutions built around the VMware portfolio to solve our Customer Business goals.
Coordination within an internal set of multi-functional teams such as Client Execs, Product Specialists, Inside Reps, Field Marketing, Professional Services, and Channel Management and external partners as described previously.
Accurately monitor and report on specific products revenue, PSO bookings and new accounts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis via Salesforce.com
The territory will be comprised of Top Tier Commercial accounts where VMware will be emphasizing consumption and outcome-focused selling including vision casting.
Internal collaboration, time management and attention to detail are critical to this role
