Job Description:

As a Lead, Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical progression and implementation of multiple teams. This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a lead, system engineering role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!

Essential Functions:

  • Possess and practice knowledge and experience across the Systems -V".

  • Creates requirements from the beginning of a system by creating well defined use cases, creates test plans, and validates requirements

  • Practice interactive and leadership skills with the customer and internal team

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Responsible for leading a team made up of multiple smaller teams that will likely change scope and reorganize quarterly

  • Provide technical planning and guidance to the program team

  • Lead and plan baseline update efforts ensuring all engineering changes are thoroughly checked, documented, and implemented as planned.

  • Present work to internal/external leadership in detailed briefings such as FRBs, RCAs, etc.

  • Provide support and final technical review to engineering documents such as specifications, interface control documents, test procedures, configuration documents, etc.

  • Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or adjacent fields and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, 13 years of experience is required.

  • Experience in leading multi-disciplined technical teams.

  • Experience in Radar, RF, or Optical engineering.

  • Active Secret security clearance

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team, act as customer interface.

  • Experience with customer interface and creating presentations.

  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.

  • Experience with project management aspects of programs (cost account management/earned value management system, estimating costs, managing schedules).

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors

    In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $106,500.00 - $197,500.00 (salary ranges in other locations could differ). This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
