Logistics Specialist - Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Management

The Advanced Analytics and Cloud Program within KBR is seeking a Logistics Specialist - Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Management in Crane, Indiana. The program supports government customers within the Department of Defense (DoD) on various projects to develop solutions incorporating technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI), and cloud infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of shipping and receiving to ensure timely and accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any issues related to shipments and deliveries.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all logistics operations.

  • Provide support in the preparation of logistics reports and documentation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. An associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience/Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, and inventory management.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and software.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.

Experience working in a logistics role within a government/military environment.

Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management software.

Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
