Job Summary:

The Senior Commercial Consultant will work alongside the Commercial Manager to develop as-a-service and asset sale pricing strategies for defined segments and currencies. To develop and manage new as-a-service customer commercial agreements. To set-up a process to support and manage bespoke agreements. To measure and report the on-going profitability of existing business.

Job Purpose:

The ongoing development and execution of innovate pricing methodologies to deliver E&ESD financial goals through value-based pricing. To create new commercial solutions for a growing range of products and services. To acquire new business by providing timely pricing quotes. To maintain a profitable portfolio of customer agreements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • To develop pricing strategies for products and services for specific business segments and currencies based on selected business models. To continually improve pricing strategies based on targeted learning.

  • To develop and apply customer agreements for specific business segments based on selected business models. To continually improve customer agreements based on targeted learning.

  • To lead deal teams to establish pricing and agreements for bespoke deals to support internal partners in specific business segments.

  • To monitor and track the performance of different products and agreements in specific segments, to make targeted recommendations to maintain profitable growth.

  • Support the delivery of component NPI programs as required including the development of new product and service requirements to support our commercial strategies.

Basic Requirements:

  • College degree required in Business (Finance, Marketing, Economics, etc.) or Engineering

  • 5+ years of services-oriented commercial experience, product organization and customer experience.

  • Commitment to inspire and develop others.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail, creative and innovative with ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity.

Top Candidates May Have:

  • Experience in variable pricing agreements, finance, and contract scope development.

  • Experience of building new commercial value propositions.

  • Proven track record of creating/negotiating customers engagements.

  • This position is located in Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Peoria, IL, Chicago, IL, Tucson, AZ, or Griffin, GA but alternative work locations near a Caterpillar facility may be considered.

  • This position is a hybrid role (3 days on-site/2 days off-site), providing flexibility and freedom to work from a location away from the office, while also enabling the opportunity to collaborate in person as needed.
