JOB DESCRIPTIONTransportation PlanningGHRPC is an integral part of MODOTs planning framework, which focuses on bottom-up decision-making that relies on the public and local officials to help identify transportation needs in the state. This position will maintain the regional transportation plan and coordinate annual updates of our areas' transportation needs. This includes road and bridge needs and multimodal needs, such as airport, rail, port, transit and pedestrian requirements. Implementation of the program will include attending meetings with elected officials throughout the region, writing plans and grant applications, performing traffic studies, and leading the Transportation Advisory Committee.Hazard Mitigation PlanningGHRPC is responsible for maintaining an updating county-wide hazard mitigation plans in each of our six counties. Hazard Mitigation Plans must be updated every 5 years. This position will work with multiple stakeholders throughout the region to analyze a variety of natural hazards that may impact an area. Further implementation of the program will require grant writing for state and federal funds to help mitigate the effects of natural hazards.Typical Functions:Develops planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs and regulationsPrepares and presents detailed reports to government bodiesActs as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and elected officialsConducts field evaluations and assessments.Attends substantial number of meetings with some demand for evening meetings.Office Location: Trenton, Mo.i Position will cover an 11-county region.i
