THE ROLE : The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations of the Sensus USA facility in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and administering the development and implementation of capital investments and efficient processes. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Develop processes, programs, tooling, and equipment for manufactured products.

  • Establish and maintain production work instructions, standard work, and other manufacturing documentation.

  • Perform time study and establish incentive rates for direct and indirect labor operations.

  • Maintain work cell and overall facility layout drawings.

  • Work with design engineering for new product release projects.

  • Investigate and resolve production, quality, equipment, maintenance and/or tooling problems.

  • Investigate and communicate new technology, equipment, and manufacturing innovations.

  • Provide cost estimates and capital equipment justifications.

  • Participate in safety/ergonomics teams, projects, and initiatives with the goal of identifying and eliminating safety/ergonomics risks and hazards.

  • Work daily with BPCS, ShopVue, MS Office and other manufacturing software.

  • Provide project support as needed in a team environment with production, quality, engineering, and other departments.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, verbally, and in written form.

  • Identify/Implement cost saving and safety opportunities.

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or related major BSIE, BSME, BSMT, BSIT.

  • Three plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must possess strong analytical and technical skills.

  • Must possess good communication skills (written and oral)

  • Must have a good working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Customer solution orientation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a manufacturing industry with assembly or electronic assembly processes.

  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Certifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office and other MS Tools.

  • CNC programming experience

  • AS400 Business System Knowledge

  • AutoCAD Software knowledge with Creo a plus
