JOB SUMMARY
This position provides training oversite, coordination, development, and support to the National Carbon Capture Center. The successful candidate will work closely with the Southern Company Services Technical Training Team, Human Resources, department managers, and team leaders to assess current and future site training development needs and procure the necessary resources to meet those needs.
Candidate should have strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to collect and analyze training data. Candidate should be capable of writing procedures, program development and implementation, classroom instruction, develop presentations, and facilitate OJT training.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have 2 years of experience leading training.
Bachelor's degree in Adult Education, Business Management, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent job-related experience is preferred.
Technical knowledge in operations, maintenance, or compliance is desired
Knowledge of plant performance measures and operations
Basic knowledge of performance management, staffing, labor and employee relations, job analysis, and leadership development
Strong planning, organizing, coordinating, problem solving and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Must have hands on experience with MS Office. Strong PowerPoint skills desired.
Ideal candidate will have experience working with Articulate and Power BI
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with site leadership to assess skill gaps for individuals, teams, and functions; and develop site training plans that help meet individual, site, and R&D goals.
Responsible for leading implementation of all site training activities
Coordinate the availability, scheduling, enrollment, delivery, and evaluation of technical learning (classroom, OJT, Technical Institutes, etc.)
Manage and track the training budget to include budgeted vs. actuals, projections, and accruals.
Must be comfortable presenting training material to site personnel.
Support SCS Technical training initiatives/projects to assess alternative technical learning methods, including vendors and instructors, and determine their relative effectiveness.
Ensure proper documentation is maintained, and timely reporting of all technical and compliance learning including classroom training, OJT, self-study, and external training.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of entry level employees.
Load annual compliance training, assign deadlines, track progress, and send periodic updates to plant leadership.
