GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director, the External Services Billing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of overall office environment/activities. Duties require work flow analysis, process improvement, problem-solving and project management skills. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of department administration support and clerical functions.
Coordinates data and compiles reports.
Communicates with internal and external clients.
Identifies, recommends, and implements work process improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred or certification in medical office billing.
Minimum of five years medical billing and follow-up experience in a hospital patient accounting department, physician office or medical services company.
Must be familiar with CPT/HCPCS coding.
Must possess interpersonal skills both oral and written necessary to develop and maintain internal working relationships and a variety of external working relationships with collection agencies, attorneys, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
