Overview
WWJ Newsradio 950 is looking for a weekend news anchor to inform and entertain listeners in the Detroit region and across the country (on our Audacy app.)
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Anchor newscasts on Saturday and Sunday evening.
Be a conversational and creative story teller
Develop major local and statewide stories
Pursue newsmakers to enhance coverage for the station's award-winning new brand
Be active on social media and be able to host special projects, shows, etc.
Required:
Must have commanding on-air presence.
Must be able to excel in breaking news coverage, while maintaining a strong journalistic background with an excellent broadcast voice and delivery.
Must be able to work with experienced team to update copy and take complex information and make it easy to understand.
Previous experience as an anchor and/or reporter in a news department preferred.
A valid driver's license, a satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check is required, along with proof of insurance.
