The Role: As a Business Application Specialist (BAS) you are responsible for product launches & updates, program development, adding new functions, market communication and training. You are also responsible for working with the business and subject matter expert teams to turn business knowledge and acumen into specifications and drive that specification from concept to launch. This position applies analytical and problem-solving skills to the design, planning, execution, deployment and maintenance of sales systems for corporate and/or department projects to ensure the satisfaction of the defined and documented business requirements are met. You are providing testing oversight and perform quality assurance in support of strategic corporate and/or department projects utilizing sales systems.

Your primary goal is getting our products into the sales systems and working according to real world application and function. You are both a product and a sales system expert, driving sales system to align with our commercial strategies for selling products.

You are working with continuous improvement, identifying business requirements, creating strategy and vision for the IT systems and processes within your area to contribute to the success of Xylem. To achieve this, you are working closely with your team, Systems Engineering Application teams, Product Data teams, Product Owners, Product Managers, IT system developers, IT DBAs, Integrators, IT Business Analysts and other IT System Business Owners. Additional to this, you are working with Sales Offices to understand business needs and objectives and deliver automation and intelligence to advance business objectives.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Approving access to add/remove users

  • Securing that application(s) documentation is up to date

  • Communication with stakeholders around application(s) roadmap

  • Creating and maintaining a 5-year roadmap of their owned application(s)

  • Creating a yearly maintenance plan, including application life cycle management, interactions with other projects or applications/functions

  • Participate in IT budget discussions for maintenance and projects for their respective tool portfolio

  • Following and promoting the Service Management processes around incidents, problems, changes and releases

  • Participating in the Business System Owner (BSO) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings

  • Maintain and ensure availability of valid training materials guidelines and instructions for Sales Tools and associated processes

  • Collaboration and communication with Selection software supplier, e.g. implementation of new business requirements and testing of software maintenance and upgrade

  • Coordinate and create requirements for developers (internal and external) that implement new functionality in owned Sales Tools

  • Application Business Owner and Business Responsible for Sales Tools applications

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Master/Bachelor of Science Engineering or equivalent working experience.

  • Project Management

  • MS Project, MS Office and SharePoint

  • Trained or have experience in writing requirement specifications for IT projects

  • Good knowledge of our product assortment

  • Good knowledge of IT system landscape

  • Process modelling

  • Information modelling

  • IT System development, Agile, IT System testing, Jira

  • Continuous Improvement - Lean Six Sigma and Change Management

Further, if the Company determines this role may be performed in or from Colorado, the salary range is $100,000 - $126,000. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors such as location, qualifications, certifications, relevant work experience and other factors, consistent with applicable law. We offer a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
