Originate claims in the claims management system, claims set up. 40%
Answer the Risk Management toll free phone line, return and transfer telephone calls to appropriate parties. Answer questions from claimants and providers. 30%
File state reports (First report of injuries {FROI's}), EDI. 15%
Approve all new vendors and make vendor address changes. 5%
Pick up and sort department checks three times per week. 5%
Communicate new claims to our TPA where appropriate. 2%
Run wage statements for adjusters. 1%
Sort, index and determine path for medical bills in question. 1%
Provide general support to adjusters for numerous functions. 1%
Ability to read and interpret data.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
Excellent phone call handling skills.
Customer service oriented and works well in a team environment.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and ability to type 40 wpm.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confrontational situations in a mature and professional manner.
Minimal clerical experience.
Knowledge of Workers' Comp and/or General Liability a plus.
Education Requirements:
High school graduate. College degree preferred.
