Overview
FTI is looking to bring on a talented Systems/Test Engineer to its team. This position will support the B-2 Display Modernization efforts as an expert systems engineering/airworthiness authority and consultant on the systems to ensure design and performance-based specification are met while minimizing life cycle costs.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing System Engineering and Test expertise in support of test and evaluation activities for the Department of the Air Force.
The candidate will provide developmental and operational test subject matter expertise while functioning as an expert in support of aircraft Airworthiness Certification
Provide oversight of test planning to support Airworthiness Certification by complying with associated process and procedures
Work with program leadership and the assigned technical team to ensure airworthiness requirements are met
Extensive developmental and operational test experience to oversee a consolidated and comprehensive test plan
Provide support for:
Assigned project documentation and additional documentation as required to include:
Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) updates
Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), and Integrated Test (IT) Plans, Procedures, and Reports
Verification and Correction of Deficiencies related activities; to include documentation
Ensure coordination of inputs to execute a safe, and operationally realistic test event(s)
Ensure the timely delivery of test related documents in preparation for, during, and after test events
Ensure the development of operationally realistic test plans and procedures to ensure comprehensive Integrated DT/OT testing
Support the preparations for and execution of Operational Test Readiness Reviews for the various stages of testing
Assist in test design, execution and reporting
Ensure the comprehensive test activities provide sufficient information to support Airworthiness certification decisions
Education/Qualifications
Must have active DoD Secret Clearance or above with ability to maintain
Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning and organizing test plan related work tasks, developing test plans, collecting data, and performing reconstruction and analysis for the test and evaluation of operational systems.
Minimum of 2 years of direct experience with DoD/USAF instructions and policies with respect to Defense Acquisition, Test and Evaluation, and Airworthiness Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field from an ABET accredited College or University.
Working knowledge of Department of Defense mission, activities, and terminology.
Working understanding of the DoD 5000 series, as well as other USG and USAF Acquisition Directives and Instructions
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with members of a diverse military and civilian team
Highly proficient in desktop computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must
