Overview
Workforce Intelligence (WFI) is a new branch of Workforce Optimization within Contact Center Operations (CCO). WFI is a highly skilled cross-functional team that has a passion for creating effective analytic solutions and driving business decisions with the use of machine learning models and data insights. As a team, we are responsible for the data management lifecycle, providing reliable workforce insights, creation and management of new analytic capabilities, and development of innovative automated solutions to everyday problems. The Summer Associate with work alongside the resident Data Scientist to help further strategic data goals and initiative while developing strong analytics, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or after.
Potential Project:
Identify data patterns and trends to answer business questions and improve decision making
Perform complex analytical, and statistical modeling and visualizations on large data sets to support business operations and organizational objectives
Analyze data, and utilize scripting skills to design and develop reporting and dashboards
Perform validation of data quality and data usability through the creation of metrics and reports
Responsibilities
Support functional requirements for analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions
Retrieve, analyze, and validate data and test the accuracy of reported results
Work directly with project leads to understand requirements and propose key analytics solutions to drive effective decision-making and influence business objectives
Analyze and summarize business operations, customer, and/or economic data in order to improve business intelligence, optimize operating effectiveness, and predict business outcomes
Collaborate with business units and senior management to conduct needs assessment to support business unit objectives
Effectively communicate data outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications
Ability to query relational databases and use business data to build machine learning models
Experience using any of the following model types: classification, regression, time series, clustering, text analytics, survival, association, optimization, reinforcement learning
Experience in data mining, data wrangling, and data validation
Functional knowledge of building basic reports and dashboards
Proficient in SQL, Python, and any visualization tool (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience working with ambiguous problems
Curious and excited to collaborate with various business units
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month.
