JOB SUMMARY:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead team(s) of high performing data management professionals and projects related to developing business and technical solutions.
Competent to lead teams responsible for data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance or data architecture.
Accountable for hiring, managing, and mentoring a team or multiple teams of software engineers in delivering the common department goals.
Lead team(s) that will build various world class software solutions
Carefully evaluate problems and provide input into many possible solutions before selecting one option.
Follows general policies and guidelines for projects within span of control to ensure specific, management goals are met, and desired results are achieved. Impacts key quality goals including customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, reoccurring revenue, timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, cost savings, process quality, etc.
Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates, as well as overall employee satisfaction for the division.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated leadership on medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.
Ability to cope with shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem- solving skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate responsibilities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong knowledge of end-to-end data lifecycle across traditional data warehouses, relational databases, operational data stores, business intelligence reporting, and big data analytics.
Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, data modeling, and data architecture concepts.
Experience in metadata management within a large corporation preferably high tech or technology manufacturing
Knowledge of data technology products and components for Big Data and Cloud (AWS, DataLakes, and similar).
Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment.
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience.
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where digital is still evolving as a core offering.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A 4-year college or university degree and a minimum of 12 years exempt experience in data management (data design, data quality, metadata, governance, etc.).
3 years of demonstrated experience leading data management or software engineering projects.
Equivalent experience may be substituted for education
