Job Title: EHS Professional (LPSD)

Position is located in Griffin, GA.
Occasional travel required (5-10% of the time as needed)
The Large Power Systems Division of Caterpillar in Griffin, GA is home to various warehouse and manufacturing operations. We are hiring for an EHS Professional that will serve as an experienced team member on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. The major focus of this role is the technical delivery as the incumbent may work more directly with different units, suppliers, customers and/or other teams and begin enhancing general and business skills.
Key skills that will be developed at this level are:
Data extraction/analysis
Failure analysis and problem solving
Application of simulation tools and methods
Practical application of theory and concepts
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accountable for contributing to the identification, analysis and resolution of needs and problems in a discipline for which the incumbent is beginning to build a reputation as an expert
Performs complex analysis work, identifies, and resolves problems.
Must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience and staying abreast of technology and regulations.
Decisions may significantly impact facility EHS performance, compliance; negotiations with suppliers; and leveraging new technologies.
Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following:
Evaluate products, processes, and equipment; keep up to date on new technologies or regulations
Communicate technical information to facility management, dealers, customers, team members, suppliers, and other units
Support and advise other EHS professionals and managers
Develop and maintain keen understanding of internal and external customers' needs.
EHS Professional Activities (may change based on facility needs):
Monitors EHS performance and recommends priorities and actions for improvement.
Reviews new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks and recommends modifications before introduction.
Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify and mitigate EHS risks.
Develops standards and work practices with line personnel and monitors conformance through EHS inspections.
Assures compliance with organization and government EHS standards.
Performs EHS audits
Completes or reviews reports for submission to the EPA or OSHA
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in EHS or other OSHA related field
Must have at least 5+years of EHS experience

Previous leadership experience
Must have ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
