The Communications Specialist supports strategic communications that enhance the Chartway brand and culture. Primary responsibilities include supporting the development and coordination of internal communications, award programs, internal/external public relations, and crisis communications to support business objectives.
Responsible and Accountable for:
Developand distribute internal communications content across multiple channels,including the internal newsletter, Sharepoint-hosted intranet, internalcollateral/presentations, and digital signage to drive engagement.
Ownthe enterprise communications calendar, working with project anddepartment stakeholders to ensure comprehensive accuracy.
Assistin communication of strategies or messaging from senior leadership.
Createand pitch press releases, media relations content, and speaking proposals.
Monitorand track media mentions to develop measurable public relations resultsand recommend new strategies to grow organizational PR activity.
Represent the Communications teamfor various projects/initiatives/events.
Provide support for crisiscommunications, including both internal and external messaging.
Support development of brandpublications that communicate the credit union's culture.
Maintain communications budget - reconcilingand reporting on a monthly basis.
Recommend and assist with theimplementation of processes and tools to optimize team productivity.

Abilityto interpret and condense complex information in a modern anduser-friendly way.
Experience with all Microsoft Office programs,design programs (Canva, InDesign, etc.), and SharePoint. Experience withEverBridge Critical Event Management platform and Meltwater MediaMonitoring Software a plus.
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related filed (essential)
3+ years of experience in Communications or related field.
Strategic and creative mindset.
Meticulous attention to detail.
