Title:
DTS Travel Specialist
Serve as a travel specialist for the Search, Track, Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Program Management Office using the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Travel System (DTS).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist personnel in completing travel forms and other business transactions pertaining to travel.
Using the DoD DTS, arrange travel typically involving two or more modes of transportation utilizing information on airfare carriers and modes of transportation.
Must be knowledgeable about booking OCONUS (overseas) travel in DTS and familiar with the Foreign Clearance Guide.
Prepares travel authorizations to ensure costs, availability, and convenience of various types of carriers, selecting the most advantageous route and carrier.
Adjust travel arrangements and itineraries as needed.
Review travel authorizations and vouchers for accuracy and applicable regulations to determine entitlements and authorized methods of travel.
Answers questions from travelers regarding travel policies and processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at minimum two (2) years' experience with DTS with the most recent experience within the past 24 months.
Strong analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
NAC-I (Secret) clearance required.
Detail oriented.
Customer service oriented.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
Knowledgeable of the DoD Joint Travel Regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
Specific contractual requirements regarding education and experience prevail where applicable.
