The Production Supervisor's role is to promote an engaged and safe work environment, set & measure productivity standards, understand and reduce costs, produce on-time delivery, develop employees/teams, understand and adhere to quality standards, reward for performance and be a positive culture steward. This position will be responsible for a 3-shift operation of the manufacturing facility and report to the Operations Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create/maintain superior team safety awareness through OPX and develop corrective actions for safety concerns.

  • Coach and develop work teams to have positive and proactive attitudes, personal accountability, and superior manufacturing quality as well as encouraging ownership of operations, products, and processes.

  • Ability to build and manage effective operational metrics in the areas of productivity, quality, and safety that will be used to monitor and drive improvements in the business.

  • Experience in creating and managing internal and external inventory management systems.

  • Through employee involvement, the production coordinator will lead cost, quality, delivery, and productivity initiatives as well as continue to encourage empowerment and to drive ITW principles as well as 80/20 efforts.

  • Standardize methods, work instructions, and best practices through cross functional teams including production coordinators from other facilities.

  • Maintain hiring and staffing levels across all shifts to meet business needs, working with Human Resources, outside agencies, and consistently following internal policies.

  • Performance management, including the preparation and administration of performance reviews and ongoing individual coaching.

  • Disciplinary management, including investigating and administering corrective action consistent with internal policies supported by Human Resources and operations management.

  • Lead, develop, train, and mentor Group Leaders and production team members in all areas including safety, quality, equipment operation and encourage the achievement of effective goals.

  • Effective communication across all shifts and levels of the organization.

  • Holds self and teammates accountable for living the ITW Culture and values.

  • Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Business

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing a multi-shift operation preferred

  • Flexible work schedule capable of meeting the needs of a 3-shift, 24/5 operation

  • Proven ability to apply ITW principles in a manufacturing environment, safety compliance, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Standards.

  • Proven problem-solving skills to include analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Be customer-focused with management, support staff, customers, and suppliers; understand how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e. engineering, materials, and sales).

  • Possess the track record of a proven leader and team player, demonstrates positive attitude, takes personal accountability, coaches, listens, approachable, and resolves issues/conflicts in timely manner.

  • Must be self-driven and be able to motivate others, able to identify needs and show the ability to make things happen with little supervision.

  • Strong computer (Microsoft Office), oral and written communication skills
