Job Description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Reports to the Telecommunications/Collaboration Manager. Serves as a Telecommunications Application Specialist for the CHKDHS Voice infrastructure, in which technology is used to help CHKDHS overall collaboration efforts.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advises team members and leadership on definition, development, documentation and implementation of any applications and programs for the operation and optimization of our overall goals within the organization.

  • Maintains systems and communication devices including but not limited to moves, additions, and changes to the systems and/or devices.

  • Oversees the combination of technical and administrative operations to provide for 3rd Party Voice application capabilities to meet the organization requests and needs.

  • Works with vendors as well as CHKD's Engineering team to test, procure, install, and support devices that are associated with CHKDHS collaboration environment.

  • Ensures the timely communication of work status and identifies application, process and quality improvement opportunities.

  • Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures.

  • Deploys and supports the organization's pager and cell phone processes.

  • Responsible for inventory management of telecommunication equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • None

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in Computer Networking, Computer Programming, MIS or related field, required. Will also consider equivalent combination of education and experience with four years of experience with a Cisco Unified Collaboration environment equivalent to an associate's degree.

  • Experience with Cisco Collaboration systems, services, and overall knowledge of applications supported by them preferred.

  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) components preferred.

  • Must have the ability to learn, install, operate, and maintain any 3rd party applications that would run in parallel with our Unified Collaboration Environment.

  • Hands-on experience in operating applications that directly connects with a Collaboration Environment preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong project and time management skills to meet tight deadlines in an organized manner.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, to inform team of progress, needs, operation, and any areas of improvement and to assist end users as needed.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while still able to accept direction from department leadership related to budget and organizational goals and needs for Telecommunication and Collaboration.

  • Ability to travel and work at various CHKDHS sites based on business needs.

  • Must possess a valid Virginia drivers' license and be able to meet the insurance requirements of the hospital.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
