Position Description
Serco has a great opportunity for a Senior Program Manager who has experience providing support services to the U.S. Navy in Washington DC. The Senior Program Manager will deliver critical Fleet support to ensure surface ships meet all current and future mission requirements.
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Ship Maintenance and Modernization contract which integrates maintenance strategies, modernization plans, training needs, and technical, logistics, and programmatic efforts to best manage the lifecycle of U.S. and partner Navy surface ships and systems from fleet introduction through transfer to disposal.
You will manage a large team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to provide management oversight in Planning, Execution, and Integration efforts in support of PMS 407.
In this role, you will:
Provide policy and guidance recommendation to commercial and government senior level staff, based on thorough analysis that utilized accepted theory, principles, and methods.
Be knowledgeable in non-nuclear surface ship modernization processes to include planning, execution, and integration.
Apply operational background and/or experience gained from military service and leadership roles to solve current issues and correct problem areas while anticipating future mission needs.
Lead, participate, monitor working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
Monitors standards for the quality of programs and documents. Assists in the resolution of project and program priorities. Assures quality control throughout all contract activities.
Develop documentation, reports, and project plans and prepare briefings and staff seminars.

You will develop, foster, and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with key sponsors, stakeholders, program managers, program directors, and other government and contractor organizations.
You will promote a culture of technical excellence, professionalism, mentoring and guidance, workforce development, administrative compliance, continuous improvement, cross-organizational collaboration, and mission-based commitment.
You will actively participate in collateral duties to include technical and organizational initiatives, studies, and working groups.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An Active DoD Secret Clearance.
A Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
8 to 10 years of directly related experience; 2 years supervisory.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Superior Microsoft Office program skills to develop PowerPoint briefings, Word documents, Excel reports, etc. for clients.
Superior writing and presentation skills to develop conceptual and analytical products for clients.
Superior communication skills while working across programs to develop products for clients.
A high level of attention to detail.
