BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The Market Segment Manager, will play a key role understanding customer needs, derived through welding market segmentation strategies. This individual will be responsible for the overall vision and strategy of the '80 market segments within the Welding Safety & Health business that will show growth in the future based on market trends and end-user needs developed through a deep understanding of the end-user's business. This person will lead the Product Management team to develop new product and business models to deliver organic growth. This person will work closely with relevant sales management and key account managers that are interfacing with end-user accounts in the '80 segment as well as work closely with other business units that have applicable value propositions in those segments. This person will also play a key role in solution development and search adjacent markets for similar needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop growth strategies and overall vision for '80 end-markets that includes all relevant P's, build the business cases supportive of the strategies while executing and delivering on the plans.

  • Utilize primary and secondary research on end-users, industries, and new markets.

  • Perform and direct market research to identify segments, assess segment size, identify top accounts, and pinpoint growth potential.

  • Analyze industry trends, customer activity and product applications to determine sales and profit potential resulting from changing conditions.

  • Recommend marketing strategies and objectives by evaluating market data, including sales, demographics, competitive landscapes, and pricing

  • Develop a deep understanding of the end-user's business and their unmet needs. Lead Innovation and Product Development projects to deliver a pipeline of sustainable and differentiated Weld Fume solutions.

  • Create programs to inform and support internal and external stakeholders (e.g., distributors, sales force, and end-users) to achieve growth objectives.

  • Validate '80 segments strategic fit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master of Business Administration preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years customer experience in a product based, business to business environment.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues, end-user needs and formulate market segmentation strategies.

  • Ability to build relationships among employees, distributors, and key end-users.

  • Strong primary and secondary research knowledge and capabilities.

  • Must have proven ability to perform and direct both qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Excellent analytical skills to dissect and react to research.

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated and solid decision-making abilities.

  • Well organized, self-starter with the willingness to grow and learn.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must possess good presentation skills.

  • 40% travel required
