Job Description:
The selected candidate will analyze and design sequences of operations and workflows to improve efficiencies in plant / production facilities, and equipment layouts; establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish accident prevention measures and coach training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. The candidate will conduct studies pertaining to cost / schedule control, cost reduction, inventory control, and all phases of production record systems. On the basis of these studies, the candidate will develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. The candidate may assist facilities engineers in the design and planning of facility infrastructure to support operations.
Essential Functions:
Provides direct support to Hangar, Dock, and Line (HDL) through problem root cause analysis and improvement recommendations/implementation; pre-induction setup; improvement efforts directed toward workflow, work sequencing, work area layout, standardized work, development and training of metrics, and input processes to HDL efforts to ensure the safe and efficient utilization of time, personnel, material, equipment, and capital resources. Aircraft MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) experience preferred. Orchestrator of monthly segment financial reporting to include tracking of segment improvement projects, financial savings, progress, and status updates.
Develop, validate, implement, and maintain labor standards for a variety of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Work jointly with cross-functional engineering groups performing concurrent engineering and producibility analysis.
Develop and implement tools/methods for measuring productivity and program cost performance (EAC/ETC)
Pull, analyze, and report data to support Manufacturing/Supply Chain Management in making key decisions
Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Qualifications:
Requires practical knowledge of job area.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Design or Engineering Related Field and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
At least one year of experience in Aerospace/Defense Operations industry.
Works under very little supervision to set objectives for own job area
Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. Contributes to the development of goals for the site and planning efforts (budgets, Operational plans, etc.).
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint applications.
Communicate across all levels (both written and verbal)
Learn quickly and adapt to new environments
Ability to develop manufacturing work standards
Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires US citizenship.
Collaborate with Sector, Operations, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and functional organizations through L3Harris e3 strategy, lean continuous improvement and other events to maximize productivity.
Ability to manage complex projects and processes with little to no oversight; to include leading the achievement of division savings goals.
Ability to collaborate with senior leadership to analyze the business and communicate major process improvement opportunities focused on waste elimination and variation reduction.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability and drive to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Experience utilizing Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, SQL programming, Adobe Creative, or similar software packages to develop work productivity tools
Lean manufacturing experience or education.
Application of analytical/statistical techniques such as regression analysis and linear programming
Working knowledge of manufacturing and/or supply chain/logistics methods and processes
Work experience in non-repetitive, design-to-order manufacturing environments
SAP-Business Warehouse software applications
