Director, Local Podcast Strategy and Operations - Audacy

Overview

Reporting to the SVP, Digital Audio Content, you will be responsible for developing and executing the topline digital growth strategy for Audacy's local podcast business. You will be tasked with setting the overall business plan to monthly reporting, compliance and work operationally on creating and executing the content distribution strategy and related partnerships. To accomplish this, you will work with both local and national teams to develop best practices and growth for the business.

You will manage and coordinate across a matrixed team of marketing, audience development, product, partnerships, distribution and syndication teams to drive experiences that super serve our existing audiences on all platforms, plus grow reach and engagement.

You will also work with Audacy's Digital Market Operations Team to provide local staff with best practices, strategies and industry trends to help talent across our 48 markets drive success and audience growth.

This opportuntiy can be located in Philadelphia or New York.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • You will provide leadership ensuring the continued development, growth, and execution of the business strategy, value proposition, team culture, and the brand, including, but not limited to:

  • Work with Digital Market Operations team to provide leadership and direction to local markets, stations, and program directors, promotions staff, and on-air talent

  • Communicate effectively and frequently across all company functions and local markets with respect to overall strategy and tactical planning

  • Ensure monthly download, subscription and TLH goals are met

  • On-Boarding new podcast requests from local stations and offboarding underperforming / dormant titles.

  • Performing regular compliance audits to ensure stations are following guidance and best practices.

  • Developing strategy on how local stations should promote their podcasts utilizing all of their available platforms.

  • Test and implement new types and length of audio content to provide an industry leading audio experience for our listeners and advertisers.

  • Help drive product features for Audacy's proprietary digital audio content management system that meet the needs of our local markets and distribution strategies.

  • Partner with the Podcast Analytics team to use data to help make business decisions on where resources and time should be spent or reduced.

  • Project managing major podcast initiatives, which may include coordination across Audacy's podcast divisions (2400Sports, Pineapple Street Studios and Cadence13)

Qualifications

More About You:

Required & Preferred:

  • Experience with audio content, systems and measurement (Omny, Google Analytics)

  • A proven record of accomplishment; successfully managing digital media or podcast teams and working with product teams to deliver quantifiable success in growing audiences

  • Ability to work across multiple teams in a matrixed environment

  • High degree of comfort and experience with data driven decision systems

  • Strong operational and analytical skills

  • Stellar written and verbal communications skills with experience and comfort interacting extensively with senior management

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in broadcast radio, digital audio streaming, or audio engineering a plus
