POSITION SUMMARY:This Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and supervising multiple sponsored recreational leagues and programs. Recruiting, scheduling, training and supervising seasonal staff and officials is a primary function of the position. This position also maintains facilities and equipment, and performs clerical work and other duties related to the Parks and Recreation programs. This position works under the general supervision of the Recreation Manager.CLOSING DATE: Until FilledWORK HOURS: Will vary based on the season.BENEFITS: Please click onthis linkfor benefits information.JOB DESCRIPTION:Please click onthis linkfor the full job description.MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAININGGraduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or a closely related field is required.Directly related professional experience, which must include experience with specific working knowledge of the related rules of recreational programs and activities, may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis and as determined by the City.PREFERED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAININGC.P.R, First Aid, and A.E.D Certificates are preferred for this position.Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred.MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTSMust be at least 18 years of age.Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with the Recreation Manager in achieving those goals.Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.Must fulfill I-9 identification requirements within the guidelines set forth by the Department of Homeland Security through the E-Verify system.
