Be a member of the Griffin facility leadership team, where our team of nearly approximately 800 employees manufacture engines and generator sets that serve customers all over the world!

As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager , you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation by providing tooling, processes, equipment, etc. needed and is done through leading other leaders of technical staff assigned to provide for the needs of the factory operations. This position will also have responsibility for the facility engineering and test department.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates the installation of new equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical assembly of engines and generator sets.

  • Provide training, development and motivation for a staff cable of completing objectives, and implementing cost reduction projects that meet/exceed the manufacturing and assembly process requirements.

  • Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc. to accommodate the changing production requirements.

  • Coordinates release dates and availability of machines and equipment and material to maintain schedules and satisfy demand.

  • Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to processes, tooling, equipment, etc.

  • Ensures implementation of modern technology and follows to determine the effectiveness of equipment and systems.

  • Establishes and then monitors general policies and guidelines for projects under his/her control, to ensure specific management goals are met and desired results are achieved.

  • Coordinate capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Keep abreast of industry changes by attending product demonstrations and identifying ongoing improvements in processes and technologies to better serve our customers.

  • Has responsibility and accountability for Manufacturing Engineering, Releasing and Facilities Engineering departments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical or University Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related discipline and 4+ years of manufacturing experience and/or maintenance experience

  • Supervisory experience in an industrial field of 4+ years

  • Knowledge of various engineering, assembly manufacturing and/or maintenance standards and practices

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver on time and on plan

  • Sound written, oral, presentation, and influencing skills

  • High level of curiosity and investigative mindset with attention to detail

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach others, take initiative and drive creative ideas forward

  • Ability to thrive and adapt in high growth, rapidly changing environment

  • Passion for collaboration and ability to align multiple stakeholders

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Extensive knowledge of the planning system, manufacturing operations, facilities, methods, and tooling

  • Experience with engine and/or generator set manufacturing

  • Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Previous leadership experience in Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineering environment

  • Travel of <10% is expected
