Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio includes are Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL database, Azure Cosmos database, and Azure PostgreSQL. Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.

The Azure Data Community, Learning and Partner team's goal is to drive excellence, cohesion, and synergies in our efforts to yield skilled talent and preference for our product stack. We are hiring a Principal Program Manager to focus on rapidly creating scale. This person will define and drive our approach to promotions, identify opportunities to maximize engagement and retention amongst our community members, and build and execute a strategy for capturing the attention of new audiences. We are looking for a leader with experience in growth, engagement, retention, and recognition coupled with a focus on data and analytics. You should be passionate about engaging closely with our customers and partner teams, and have experience working across global markets. This role requires someone who has a bias for action, thrives in a dynamic environment, and collaborates successfully on cross-functional teams. Responsibilities

- You will develop and implement a strategic promotion calendar by partnering with teams across Microsoft to identify digital and physical promotion channels best suited for our audiences across regions.

- You will act as a single point of contact for all promotions, enabling the rest of the team to focus and scale in their respective areas.

- You will collaboratively build a strategy to grow visitors and engagement on the Fabric Community by targeting different audiences and leveraging industry best practices from successful communities, including recognition and loyalty opportunities.

- You will design and execute an approach for capturing new audiences of data engineers and analysts.

- You will identify regional opportunities to scale through our subsidiaries and enable their respective success.

- You will use data to create narratives that enable us to drive future decisions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years of experience in marketing, product launch and growth strategy

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years in digital marketing and promotions.

  • 3+ years in community engagement.

  • 3+ years in audience research and new audience acquisition.

  • 3+ years in designing learning programs.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Master in Business Administration (MBA)

  • 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 10+ years in data analysis and data-driven storytelling.

  • 3+ years in student and academic engagement.

Customer Experience Program Mgmt IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
