PenFed is hiring a Director, Capital Markets at our Tysons, Virginia location. The position is responsible for managing the Securitization and other Capital Market operations associated with Portfolio Acquisitions, Sales, and new third party relationships. This position will primarily oversee and monitor the asset level due diligence, collateral cash flow modelling, bond waterfall analytics, investor reporting and asset level disclosures for several consumer asset securitization transactions. Additionally, this position will coordinate with several internal teams to ensure monthly performance data, collection information and bond investor calculations are reported to the Trustee in a timely manner.

  • Lead the development of collateral cash flow models, bond waterfall models and other analytics required for supporting the pre-closing and post-closing procedures for consumer securitization transactions.

  • Work with individual product, accounting, collections, credit, IT, Data and operations teams to build the necessary infrastructure to securitize consumer assets originated and acquired by PenFed.

  • Work with Investment Banks, Trustees, Rating Agencies, Accountants, internal and external stake holders for securitization transactions to ensure successful issuance of ABS transactions. Manage new investment banking, servicing, trustee relationships.

  • Leverage knowledge of Securitization regulations such as Credit Risk Retention requirements, Regulation AB, investor due diligence requirements and ensure compliance with these rules and regulations for all the upcoming securitization transactions.

  • Work with Finance, Product teams to determine the economics of securitization transactions based on current market conditions and enhance the ROA while focused on balance sheet management.

  • Manage and mentor individuals regarding Consumer Loan Securitization techniques and other capital market mechanisms to ensure PenFed is able to leverage the latest nuances in waterfall structures in the securitization transactions.

  • Analyze the stratifications of similar securitization transactions, performance trends and execution economics to compare enhancements to be made with respect to PenFed processes and systems. Work collaboratively with credit and product teams to publish a memo regarding the results of the analysis.

  • Review closing documents to ensure accurate disclosure of the waterfall mechanism and other analytics related to the securitization transaction. Incorporate any inputs/comments from internal departments such as Accounting, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Collections, TPRM, IT, Operations and Marketing.

  • Manage the publication of the monthly investor reporting package with coordination from Credit, accounting, investor reporting teams and respond to any investor queries or questions related to the securitization transactions.

  • Demonstrated Ability to analyze large amounts of consumer data using analytical tools such as R, SQL, Tableau, SAS, Excel, SPSS and Visual Basic.

  • Assist in the pricing, due diligence, purchase and sale of consumer portfolios and facilitate interactions with brokers, potential buyers in the portfolio due diligence and other operational aspects.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance with preference for quantitative fields (e.g., Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Predictive modeling) or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of work experience in financial services required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience of management experience required.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in consumer lending preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in consumer analytics preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of Consumer products (Autos, Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Mortgages) including identifying drivers for credit policy, knowledge of the underwriting process, performance analytics and reporting functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex enterprise-wide projects and end-to-end implementations that require building strong working relationships across the organization.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools such as R, SQL, Tableau, SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, Excel, SPSS, SPSS Modeler and Visual Basic.

  • Provides leadership to managers and other junior professional associates within the team.

  • Oversees the investor reporting and transaction analytics functions within the Capital Markets team.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data to make decisions.

  • Track record of successfully executing consumer ABS securitization transactions interacting with multiple stake holders internally and externally within the organization.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

CFA or FRM is preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to investor locations occasionally may be required.
