The Role
With multiple positions available, these roles will directly support Newport News Shipbuilding's Vice President of Contracts & Pricing Division and will oversee a team of professionals in the creation, execution, and analysis of contracts within an organization.
Daily Responsibilities for both openings include:
Administer, extend, negotiate and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts
Conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
Prepare bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information
Additional Responsibilities include:
Maintain regulatory and statutory compliance for the Cost Estimating Business System in accordance with FAR and DFARS requirements and coordinating with other corporate divisions and business partners on common cost estimating and pricing issues and policies
Training and development responsibilities for a staff of approximately 100 full-time costs analysis and estimating professionals
Talent pipeline development activities and including the Cost Estimating Apprentice curriculum
Must Have
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience OR a Master's degree in a relevant discipline and 8 years of relevant work experience.
