Reporting to Sector VP of Finance, the Director of Finance is an integral member of the Division Senior Leadership team and accountable for the controlling, accounting/finance, planning/budgeting, and program finance. The Director will be responsible for providing senior leadership, financial strategies, business/operations strategies and the management of financial resources to ensure the achievement of the Division's business plans and objectives. The Director will oversee the Division's overall financial governance and policies. A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality of financial management, including sound processes, business analysis, and providing insightful reporting. As an integral member of the Division Senior Leadership Team, the Director will also be responsible for preparing and briefing key information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting/finance, controlling, FP&A, governance, and program finance.

  • Lead and develop the finance team to ensure cross functional effectiveness.

  • Oversight of financial policies, practices and procedures and ensure adherence.

  • Optimize accounting functions through efficiency, best practices & IT investment.

  • Ensure adherence to accounting and planning practices in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Lead, evaluate, integrate and support change management and process improvements.

  • Provide financial leadership to foster and drive business success.

  • Develop financial performance reporting to support business decision making.

  • Implement effective asset management practices to deliver strong cash performance.

  • Ensure Program-level financial performance, using Earned Value methodology.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure organizational success.

  • Demonstrate initiative through active participation and leadership on strategic and tactical management issues, specifically with expertise in financial and general management

  • Liaison with Sector management to ensure alignment of processes and business transparency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience

  • Professionally designated accountant - CPA, CA, CMA, CGA

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a senior management position within Finance and financial practices.

  • Prefer industry knowledge (Commercial Aerospace and Defense, Earned Value);

  • Demonstrated skills in general and strategic business management, innovative and visionary planning, analyzing and decision making, effective leadership, communications and customer relations.

  • Visionary leadership skills - ability to inspire respect and trust and mobilize others to fulfill the vision.

  • Strong business acumen; understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment; displays willingness to make decisions; adapts to changing conditions; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; makes timely decisions.

  • Ability to assess business risk and develop and execute business-wide growth and improvement plans.

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management and subordinates including making effective presentations to the senior leadership team. Able to engage with and work well with people at all levels and team focused.

  • A self-starter, highly motivated, with a strong work ethic who has demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior.

  • Demonstrated track record for talent development and leadership of staff/team is required.

  • Strong analytical and technical leadership skills with vision beyond the task at hand.

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in mergers/acquisitions, ERP implementations and familiarity with US Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR) are preferred.
