Job Description:
Become a team member of Defense Operations that supports a variety of high reliability electronic communication products and systems. Provide end-to-end support from receiving to shipping and from early design to full rate production. Guide the design for manufacturability of new products/programs and maintain products in full production to ensure the highest quality and safety standards are met while exceeding customer expectations. Disposition nonconforming material, update documentation for improvements/corrections, and resolve assembly issues. Initiate, lead, and support continuous improvement activities that include analysis for new equipment, tooling, and fixtures along with process flow and facility layout changes.
Essential Functions:
Create, develop, implement, optimize, and maintain routings, tooling/fixturing, process for electronic products and systems.
Initiate requisitions to purchase necessary tooling to support production lines.
Conduct economic analysis on new methods and equipment.
Define, propose, and implement capital equipment for process improvement.
Create work instructions and guide and train production personnel in the manufacture of new and existing products.
Provide facility layout and design recommendations for new methods and process flow improvements.
Participate on failure analysis teams and contribute to troubleshooting, resulting solutions, root cause and corrective actions.
Support safety initiatives involving tooling/fixture ergonomics, maintenance of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and chemical handling.
Work with suppliers to resolve material related issues found in production.
Initiate, evaluate, and approve engineering change orders and/or change requests.
Participate in and guide Design for Manufacturability of new products during transition from design to production.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
Practical knowledge of project management and leading the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
Experience transitioning products from prototype to qualified full rate production.
Knowledge of ESD, IPC, and J-STD requirements for the manufacture of electronic assemblies for defense applications.
Lean Manufacturing/5S+1 experience
Excel VBA, Access Database programming knowledge/experience
Robotic programming, sensors, automation
Knowledge of quality measurement equipment, inspection techniques, material disposition, etc.
General SharePoint experience
AutoCAD, Aegis, Oracle, Agile PLM experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $67,000 - $125,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
