Product Software Engineer (Birmingham, AL)
JOB SUMMARY:
The candidate must be able to architect, develop, code, and test software. The ideal candidate has experience in Android, iOS, and web applications. The candidate will be a part of a team that is recognized as technical experts in handsets, fixed and mobile data devices, applications, and services, including Push-To-Talk solutions. They will also be interfacing with vendors to develop, test, and certify these products throughout the product lifecycle.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Hybrid work schedule, 3 days a week work from home.
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related degree required
Entry level and up to 10 years' experience is desired.
Ability to create software systems by designing, developing, and testing to meet customer needs.
Android and iOS software development experience is desired
Python, Java, Full-Stack web development is desired
Ability to understand market drivers within telecommunications, including emerging technologies.
Aptitude for understanding how software products and solutions can be offered to customers.
Able to effectively articulate technical issues with vendors, leaders, and executives with the ability to influence decisions.
Strong problem solving and quick decision-making skills required.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, test, and launch software solutions that are required for telecommunications operations and customers.
Develop mobile applications on the Android and iOS platforms.
Develop web applications, including server-side software.
Ensure the products delivered by vendors are certified to be launched on the Southern Linc network.
