Summary You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will receive, verify, unload, inspect and process incoming general and specialized shipments from a variety of sources. You will independently load and unload various types of vehicles using a wide range of material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, side loaders, and trucks). You will process receipt/issue transactions into applicable Automated Data Processing Systems (ADPS) such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to update records and files. You will transport items to and from the delivery vehicle as required and assist customers in obtaining delivery information upon request. You will examine items received, notes overages, shortages or any damages in shipping, and prepare detailed reports. The Screen-out Element for this position is: : I have the ability to perform a full range of tasks of a material handler to include experience performing a majority of the following duties with minimal supervision; receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, inventorying, distributing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements and documenting discrepancies; reading and preparing shipping documents; utilizing automated systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to input, update and extract data; operating automated equipment such as optical readers, scanners, computer terminals, and barcode wands to process incoming stock; perform clearly defined segments of re-warehousing/consolidation warehouse assignments and make recommendations concerning the consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; determining proper handling and storage procedures; operating material handling equipment and motor vehicles to relocate, arrange, stack and palletize items. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
