This opportunity entails being responsible for the leadership of profitable growth of the division ($250MM to $500MM in annual revenue and $500MM+ in sales), including establishing strategy, sales, revenue, earnings and overall team leadership. Develops short and long term strategic business objectives for the division. Plans, directs and manages activities of the division to accomplish budgeted financial objectives. Provides leadership to office leaders and division management team members, among others, to accomplish the division objectives.
Through leadership and collaboration, The Division President is responsible for achieving and maintaining HNTB's clear reputation as the leader in the transportation infrastructure industry. Continues to build upon already strong relationships and successful mega projects. Helps further develop and grow the Division by effectively partnering with elected officials, top agency management, and HNTB national leadership and Firm wide resources. This executive role reports directly to the Regional President with significant strategic alignment with each of HNTB's Division Presidents and works with the Corporate Leadership Team.
What You'll Do:
Lead the development and execution of the strategic direction to achieve sustainable profitable growth.
Build and implement effective sales/marketing initiatives to drive positive revenue growth.Lead the day-to-day operations and P&L.
Develop and nurture effective and lasting client relationships.
Provide leadership to develop a well-coordinated team of office leaders and division management team members that work collaboratively and in alignment with the division and office strategic and business plans.
Develop division president successors and ensure that office leaders and division management team members are also developing successors.
Collaborate with other division presidents and corporate leadership to maximize HNTB's overall profitable growth results.
Be a champion for HNTB standards of performance while continually leading improvement of processes and establishment of new processes. Leading and energizing all functions such as production, engineering, marketing-sales, and accounting.
Drive key recruitment and work-sharing opportunities working with Human Resources and the Talent Management team to ensure that the operation is staffed at optimal levels to meet and exceed goals and objectives, while reducing turnover and planning for future needs.
Recruit key talent to HNTB - line leaders, management team members, client service leaders, practice builders and mega project managers, among others.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree
15 years progressive experience with multiple transportation infrastructure markets such as DOT, Toll, Transit/Rail, Aviation, and Municipal
5 years profitable growth management of an organization (or profit center within a larger organization) of significant size (i.e. 100+ people) that provides confidence in management of an HNTB division size organization
What We Prefer:
Master's degree
Prior PAC experience working with special legislative committees (Consulting Engineers Council) to develop legislation, address business issues, and develop better awareness of contributions by consulting engineers with state and local government officials highly desired.
Experience in both the public and private sectors preferred.
Proven experience with personal relationships with elected officials and leadership of an organization that is very active with government relations at state and local levels.
Registered Professional Engineer (and in multiple states) or AICP
