Title:

Material Specialist III

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs functions relating to technical research, requisitioning, stockage computation, stockage replenishment, custodial record keeping, issue, disposal, redistribution, tracking of equipment, supplies, and publications. In addition to requisition and procurement processing, they operate personal computers, multimedia data entry, scanning and retrieval systems, generate routine reports, and perform technical research for customer inquiries within GCSS-MC, MDSS II and any other system of record. Maintains and prepares necessary inventory control reports, custody records, performs reconciliations and administers the expenditure of allocated funds in accordance with approved Statement of Work (SOW). Uses critical thinking skills to identify and take timely corrective action to solve date output and supply administration problems. Also includes the use of automated systems (both hardware and software) related to accomplishment of the above tasks. Provides training and guidance to lower level employees. Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent. Four years of related work experience. Complete basic enlisted military supply course, or equivalent. Solid understanding of Department of Defense logistic functions relative to large scale organization logistics functions and the activities involved in providing Supply Chain logistical support. Working knowledge of GCSS-MC or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technologies. Working knowledge of various computer capabilities, features and functions. Able to read, interpret, and correctly respond to communication provided by higher headquarters in the form of Disposition Instructions (WIR) and/or Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) as applicable. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
